On August 01-05, 2026, a delegation from Ushynsky University visited Busan (Republic of Korea) consisting of Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Ganna MUZYCHENKO, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​Oleksandra POPOVA, Head of the International Department Oleksandra MORHUN, and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Germanic and Oriental Languages ​​and Methods of Their Teaching at the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​Antonina PAK to participate in the International Forum “Eurasia Convention Busan 2026. The Role of Education in the Age of Chaos – Hope for a New Era”, organized by the Eurasia Foundation from Asia (Japan). The forum was opened by leading figures in science and education: Minister of Education of South Korea   Mr. Choi Kyo-jin, Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Busan Mr. Jeong Jae-soo, Director of the Eurasia Foundation from Asia Mr. Yoji Sato and others.

Within the framework of the International Forum "Eurasia Convention Busan 2026", the delegation of Ushynsky University held a series of consultations on academic cooperation with foreign colleagues. On August 1, 2026, the Senior Research Fellow of the Eurasian Foundation (from Asia), Mr. Jeong Junkong, welcomed the Ushynsky University team and thanked them for their contribution to the development of science, education and international cooperation. The Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of Ushynsky University, Ganna Muzychenko, reported on the results of three-year research, publications and lecture courses that were implemented in the context of the International Grant "Eurasian Commonwealth: Ukraine as a Crossroads of Europe and Asia". The Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Oleksandra POPOVA, informed about the university's potential, educational and methodological support for the training of future teachers of Oriental Studies and the prospects for opening an EPP aimed at training future teachers of the Japanese language.

On August 3, 2026, Ganna MUZYCHENKO delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Forum along with the honored guests of the event - the rector of Pusan ​​University of Foreign Studies, Mr. Chang Sun-hyun, and other educators and scientists recognized by the world academic community from almost 350 educational institutions from Western and Eastern countries, namely: the USA, Great Britain, Hungary, Turkey, Italy, Finland, Kazakhstan, Japan, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Laos, etc.

The program of the Forum on August 4, 2026 provided for round tables on pressing problems of our time: 1) "Politics and Economics"; 2) "History, Social Affairs, Ethics and Morality"; 3) "Culture and Education"; 4) "Literature, Popular Culture, Artificial Intelligence, Environment and Energy". The delegation from Ushynsky University took part in the round tables and sessions. Oleksandra POPOVA made a presentation on the topic “Ukraine’s Higher Education System under Military Conditions: Challenges and Potential Directions for its Development” at the round table session “Culture and Education”.

A series of meetings were held on the Forum platform with prominent representatives of the Eurasian academic community and vectors of cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture were discussed, such as: the rector of Busan University of Foreign Studies, Mr. Chang Sun-hyun, the rector of Dongseo University (Busan, Republic of Korea), Mr. Chang Jae-kook, the professor of the Department of Ethical Education, Seoul National University of Education, Mr. Lee In-je, and others. The Vice Chancellor of Tunghai University, Taiwan, Mr. Liu Chen, proposed an academic exchange program for students of Ushynsky University.

With the Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Waseda University, Japan, Mr. Gemma Masahiko, and the Director of the East Asian Research Center of the National Archives of Hungary, Mr. Kim Bohuk, cooperation vectors in the spectrum of professional training of future Japanese language teachers were discussed, and experience was exchanged on the methodology of teaching Japanese as a foreign language and academic cooperation.

A particularly significant moment of the Ukrainian delegation's participation was their acquaintance with the Director of the Eurasian Foundation for Asia, Mr. Yoji Sato. Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Hanna Muzychenko, solemnly presented the second part of the monograph "Eurasian Commonwealth: Ukraine as a Crossroads of Europe and Asia" to the Director. The Ukrainian side reported on the growing interest of students in the initiated academic mobility program and the development of lecture courses, which were introduced into the educational process of Ushynsky University. The Director of the Eurasian Foundation from Asia was impressed by the number of students and teachers involved in the International Grant “Eurasian Commonwealth: Ukraine as a Crossroads of Europe and Asia” and the popularity of the implemented lecture courses. Mr. Yoji Sato highly appreciated the work of Ukrainian scientists and expressed his intention for further cooperation.

So, analyzing the achievements of the three-year cooperation with the Foundation, Ushynsky University plans to expand the opportunities for academic exchange and promote the further development of joint scientific projects with partners from Western and Eastern countries.
