From 05.07.2026 to 09.07.2026, a group of teachers from Odesa region visited the city of Harbin (PRC) consisting of Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Activities Yuriy HRYTSIUK, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Oleksandra POPOVA, Dean of the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology Olena BULHAKOVA, Chief Accountant Natalia MALYARENKO, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic and Oriental Languages and Methods of Their Teaching Natalia OSKINA, Lecturer of the Department of Theory and Methods of Practical Psychology Valentyna BULHAKOVA, Director of Odesa Lyceum No. 38 Yana POTSELUIEVA, Director of Odesa Lyceum No. 117 Natalia STATSENKO, Director of Odesa Gymnasium No. 1 named after A. P. Bystrina Lyudmila TOPCHIY, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking of Odesa National Economic University Hanna KOTSYURUBENKO. The purpose of the visit was to continue the “Group of Teachers” program, which involves familiarizing Ukrainian educators with the system of preschool, secondary and higher education of the PRC and exchanging experience on the organization of the educational process in Ukraine and China on the platform of the Confucius Institute Educational and Cultural Center.
The parallel scientific program on the platform of the Confucius Institute was attended by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Hanna MUZYCHENKO and the Head of the International Department Oleksandra MORHUN, who during the visit held a series of lectures, seminars and round tables.
On July 7, 2026, a conference was held with representatives of the administration of Harbin Engineering University on the issues of stable functioning of the Confucius Institute Educational and Cultural Center. Hanna MUZYCHENKO expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for the support of the Center and made proposals on the innovative content of academic exchange in conditions of military operations. Yuriy HRYTSYUK reported on the administrative and economic resources of Ushynsky University and the provision of our university with security equipment and bomb shelters. Oleksandra POPOVA proposed vectors for further productive cooperation between Harbin Engineering University and Ushinsky University, and also reported on the possibilities of improving the training of future Chinese translators and sinology teachers at Ushinsky University. The Chinese side, headed by the First Vice-Rector of Harbin Engineering University Yin HANG, highly appreciated the intentions of the Ukrainian honored guests. Director of the Institute of International Cooperation Ding XUEZHONG and ex-director of the Confucius Institute Ding XIN shared their views with the Ukrainian delegation on the prospects for further cooperation and expansion of the educational and cultural platform of the Confucius Institute.
On July 8, 2026, a round table was held with the Chinese team of the Confucius Institute on strengthening the language training of higher education applicants. Director of the Institute of International Cooperation of Harbin Engineering University Ding XUEZHONG represented scholarship programs for foreigners to enter bachelor's and master's degrees in various specialties. Director of the Confucius Institute from the Ukrainian side Oleksandra POPOVA focused on the need to attract Ukrainian graduates of secondary education institutions to enter Harbin Engineering University.
In the new working year, the Confucius Institute of Ushynsky University, taking into account the results of the agreements reached, seeks to further strengthen cooperation between the parties, expand opportunities for academic exchange, and promote the development of productive dialogue between partner universities and the peoples of the two countries.
