An Introduction to the University and the educational process at the Faculty of History and Philology for 9th–10th Grade Student of Odesa Lyceum No. 15

On June 12, students of grades 9-10 of Odesa Lyceum No. 15 of the Odesa City Council visited the Archaeological Laboratory of Ushynsky University. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the University and the educational process at the Faculty of History and Philology.

The Head of the Department of History of Ukraine Olena Sekerska conducted a meaningful tour of the archaeological laboratory for the students, during which she introduced the guests to the areas of scientific activity of the department, modern methods of archaeological research and the results of the work of teachers and students. She also spoke about the opportunities for studying at Ushynsky University, admission requirements, educational programs and the advantages of the profession of a history teacher in modern society.

The students were particularly interested in the demonstration of archaeological finds from different historical eras stored in the laboratory. The students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the artifacts, learn about the features of their research and preservation, and also get an idea of ​​the scientific and research activities of the university's teachers and students. The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere and contributed to expanding students' knowledge about historical science, archaeology, and opportunities for professional development and employment.
