As part of their archaeological internship, students and teachers visited the city of Bolhrad

On June 21, as part of the archaeological practice, students and teachers visited the city of Bolhrad, which is unofficially called the capital of Bessarabia, and the local history museum in the Gagauz village of Kotlovyna.

In Bolhrad, part of the excursion was conducted by Oleh Atmazhov, a university graduate who knows the city inside out. Thanks to this, getting to know Bolhrad was not only informative, but also truly alive. We visited the Transfiguration Cathedral, the former Cyril and Methodius Gymnasium, the Inzov Mausoleum, and walked through the fantastic streets of historical Bolhrad.

From there, the group went to the village of Kotlovyna, where they visited the local history museum. The paleontological exposition was the most surprising - unexpectedly rich for a small village museum and clearly worthy of special attention.

Such practice is always more than a route from point A to point B. Each stop adds to the understanding of how rich in history this region is.
