The outstanding Ukrainian sociologist Vil Savbanovych Bakirov celebrated his 80th anniversary on June 8. Vil Savbanovych Bakirov is a Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Rector of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (1998 - 2021), President of the Sociological Association of Ukraine (SAU), who is known for his achievements in scientific research and pedagogical activities, creative energy, purposefulness, and dedication to sociological science and education. Modern Ukrainian sociology is impossible to imagine without Vil Savbanovych, his fundamental research, and scientific works, which have become intellectual landmarks for many sociologists.

Colleagues and friends congratulated Vil Savbanovich Bakirov during the solemn meeting of the board of the Sociological Association of Ukraine, which took place on June 10 in an online format. Scientists of the South Ukrainian branch of the SAU, teachers of the Department of Philosophical and Sociological Studies and Sociocultural Practices of Ushynsky University joined in the sincere congratulations and presented Vil Savbanovych with his portrait by the famous Odesa artist, Honored Artist of Ukraine N. Fomichova Prof. Olena Liseyenko, Head of the South Ukrainian branch of the SAU, delivered a welcoming speech.
