Participation of students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Natural and Mathematical Sciencesin the open lecture "AI and Integrity: Teachers vs(?) Students"

On April 29, 2026,  the students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Natural and Mathematical Sciences (Reulets Maria, Yushchenko Oleksandra, Kryshchuk Petro and Pogrischak Alina) under the guidance of the lecturer of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics Rubanska Olga Yakivna took part in the open lecture "AI and Integrity: Teachers vs(?) Students". The event was organized by the team of the Integrity Office of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

The topic of the lecture is extremely relevant given the rapid integration of artificial intelligence technologies into the educational and scientific space. Awareness of the principles of their use is of key importance for ensuring academic integrity and the quality of education.

During the speech of the speaker Artem Artyukhov, the head of the Ethics Committee of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, the head of the Ukrainian Office of Research Integrity, attention was focused on the feasibility of perceiving artificial intelligence as an effective support tool that is able to optimize the performance of routine tasks, but cannot replace critical thinking, analytical abilities and professional expertise of a person.

The participants of the event learned practical scenarios for the use of AI, in particular for personalizing learning, searching and processing information, generating ideas and preparing educational materials. This opens up new prospects for both students and teachers in the context of the modernization of the educational process.

Special attention was paid to the issues of information verification: the need for thorough fact-checking of data obtained with the help of artificial intelligence was emphasized, especially in the field of scientific research, where the reliability of information is of fundamental importance.
