On May 14, a unique event took place for students of the Faculty of Arts and Graphics of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky - a creative meeting with the world-famous Odesa sculptor, architect and artist Mykhailo Reva.
This special visit was made possible thanks to the initiative and personal invitation of the rector of Ushynsky University, Andriy Krasnozhon.
A tour of the halls of Mykhailo Reva's workshop turned into a real immersion in the holy of holies of the artistic process for the students. The atmosphere of the space, where large-scale projects go from the first sketches to their embodiment in the material, impressed the young artists. Leading the guests through the halls of his workshop, Mykhailo Reva showed the creative path - from classical masterpieces, without which it is no longer possible to imagine Odesa, to the newest works full of deep philosophical meanings, on which the artist is working today.
During a sincere dialogue, Mykhailo Reva shared with the students memories of his own student years and first steps in art. His stories about his studies, the intricacies of working with various materials, and curious but instructive stories from his creative life aroused lively interest and many questions from future artist-teachers. The sculptor emphasized the importance of the continuous search for one's own handwriting, inner freedom, and tireless work.
The university administration, teachers, and, above all, students of the Faculty of Arts and Graphics express sincere, deep gratitude to Mykhailo Reva for his hospitality, openness, and invaluable experience, which he so sincerely shared with the younger generation.
Special thanks to the rector of the university, Andriy Krasnozhon, for organizing this inspiring meeting and constant support for the creative initiatives of the Faculty of Arts and Graphics. Such events not only broaden the professional worldview, but also ignite the fire of true art in the hearts of our students, motivating them to create their own history in Ukrainian culture.
Together, let's create the future of art education!
